So, two weeks into term, I think I can finally say that I've settled down here at university and my bedroom already needs cleaning (I'll do it after I've typed this since this is a little overdue as well ^.^'
I share my kitchen here with 16 others, and they seem nice enough (though a little noisy when they're drinking or randomly serenading someone in the middle of the night, which is funny for the first 5 seconds and then you feel like breaking the guitar/throwing something at them). My bedroom's bigger than the one I have at home, and has a sink in it, and we have to share the shower room (x1) and toilets (x3).
I've had some lectures this week (the tutorials start next week and the timetables on StudyNet are a little confusing, so I'll need to sort that out before Monday XD), only one of them was really interesting (the one about car engines
I've joined two societies: one sport and one social.
1. Karate - it's kind of different to the karate that I did before; the pace is alot different and so is the teaching style, but I rather like it. It seems more about going with the flow and less aggressive, but then again I've only been to one session so far!
2. Genshiken (A study of modern visual culture) - Yep, like the anime/manga, though there aren't any initiantion ceremonies that envolve Hentai (that I know of XD) and seems pretty cool! I was there on Wednesday from 6-10 and we managed to get through quite alot (as you might imagine haha)... We saw an episode each of Genshiken, Saint Saiya, Batman, and Lucky Star, and saw Ponyo
It was Wednesday that I managed to catch this horrible cold that I've now got to deal with (since I couldn't find an ill mood, you get spidey senses instead
I'm about 15 mins away from the Galleria shopping centre which I explored briefly last week (I'll probably go back for a bit tomorrow if I can be bothered) where I quickly hunted down the anime and manga sections in the hmv and waterstones respectively
This morning I went to ASDA solo for the first time (the first week and last week I went with mum and dad) which is a 20-25 min walk away and had a nose around the surrounding area, finding the Market, an Indian grocers and the Iceland in the process (which is always handy to know). I got my strepsils and paracetamol from the boots pharmacy before heading back to ASDA to do my food shop.
I had a *cough*useless*cough* lecture on career skills on Thursday when I really missed
Right, I think I'm going to go get some more tissues, so this is it for now!
Seeya!
